What types of payment do we accept?
Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit and debit cards are accepted through our secure checkout.
Orders from outside of the US and Canada may require payment by Paypal or Western Union.
We recommend and accept PayPal, a reliable way to send money over the Internet without giving out your credit card numbers when you shop online.
Checks are accepted on request at Profoundia Please email us first if you would like to pay by check- we will then arrange to provide this option for you in our checkout.
If you are sending payment by mail please note the following points-
- When sending a payment, please include second choices and your email address as we cannot
hold specific items until your check arrives.
- Allow one week for personal checks to clear. Orders paid by money order can be shipped immediately after payment is received.
Profoundia can not be held responsible for payments that are lost in the mail. If the you are concerned about your payment getting lost, please use registered mail.
Shipping Times and Policies
Orders usually ship anywhere from one to two business days after your order is placed depending on current order volume. Shipped orders are confirmed with an email.. so you will know when your items were sent out. All items featured on our site are typically in stock (we will contact you promptly if an item is back ordered) so you can expect your order to arrive quickly.
Our preferred shipping method is priority mail, which will cost you $5.00, no matter how many items you order. If you aren't buying any metal tins, and your shipment is less time sensitive, use the code "bindiship" for a $2 discount on your shipping rate. If you use this coupon, your order will be shipped via airmail. Metal tins are shipped via Priority mail or UPS, depending on weight. We'll include a tracking number if your order is shipped via UPS.
International shipping costs are set according to the US postal service rates and will be added after you check out.
Registered mail is recommended on international orders. We do verify international credit card orders with our merchant bank.
We want you to be pleased with your purchase from Profoundia. We do have a ten day return policy on all the items we sell. If an item is not what you expected, or is not the right size, please email us for an authorization number and then return it unused. We will then issue you either a refund or store credit, your choice.

What's a "S.A.S.E"? Self Addressed Stamped Envelope means that you send us an extra envelope with a stamp and your own address on it, so we can mail it back to you with your free sample. You will need 2 envelopes and 2 stamps to do this. Once we receive your SASE envelope, a sample will be sent out within 30 days. If you are outside the US, you will also need to send an international reply coupon

There's no need to insert any extra code, referring links through our webstore are automatically tracked.. when someone shops our site after visiting yours, we'll give you 20% of the amount they spent in store credit at Profoundia ( before the shipping cost). Send us a paying customer and we will give you store credit.. you can even use your credit with us toward shipping costs. If you don't have a website, and still want to refer people.. have your friend tell us your email when they checkout. ( Tell them not to forget.. this is how we contact you about you referral credit!)

Looking for black or colored henna?
Please be aware that products marketed as black or colored henna may contain ingredients that are unsafe for use on skin. If a product claims to stain your skin any other color than the natural brown or reddish brown that is typical of natural henna, be very cautious. There is no such thing as "natural black henna."
There are many temporary body paints that are made in the USA and specifically designed for use on skin. We recently introduced a line of colored body paints here on our website that are FDA and ASTM approved- see our henna section for details. The journey to Profoundia.com began with a few auctions for bindis on Ebay in 1999. Our line has grown to include a variety of jewelry items, creative gifts for the home and our popular bindi craft tins. We import all of our products ourselves and established Profoundia com in fall of 2000 to offer our selections to you, our valued retail and wholesale customers.
A little about Bindis-The folk culture of India is rich with stories of the origins of the Bindi.
Though a traditional bindi is a red dot made of kum kum powder worn by married women, fashion bindis are now made of plastic, velvet and jewels and are worn by men, women and children in India for many different festive occasions or just for fun!
People who wear bindis in western countries are creating a new meaning for them, as a symbol of feminine empowerment, spiritual awakening and hope for understanding between cultures. We hope to see lots more third eye jewels in
